WARRINGTON’S Lucy Glover is celebrating gold as Britain’s rowers romped to a magnificent haul of six medals and four golds inside two hours at the European Championships in Munich.
Lucy stroked the women’s quad to gold by clear water, one of the performances of the day across the board, alongside Georgina Brayshaw, Lola Anderson and Jess Leyden.
Warrington Rowing Club posted on social media:
“HUUUUUUGE WELL DONE to Lucy Glover who raced to Gold in the European Championships with crew mates Jess Leyden, Lola Anderson and Georgina Brayshaw today!
Leading practically the whole race, they added to the Gold medal tally for Team GB today on the Olympic Regatta course intwitter Munich.
We’re so proud of you Lucy! And are championing you from Mrs Mersey as always!”
The 23-year-old former Lymm High School student was introduced to rowing through a Project Oarsome partnership between Lymm High School and Warrington Rowing Club.
