GRAPPENHALL’S amazing run of victories continued as they recorded their 13th win on the bounce – a comfortable eight wicket triumph hosting Bollington.
The result keeps them at the top of the RSK Cheshire County League division one table on 298 points, 18 clear of runners-up Cheadle, who kept things interesting by also winning.
Grappers were hosting Bollington, who elected to bat and were dismissed for 168.
Ian Hall took 4-32 and Arran McCabe 4-11
Skipper Pete Barnes hit 80 and Ben Bodha 52 not out as Grappenhall coasted to 169-2 in 43 overs.
Grappenhall 2nd won by 13 runs in a low-scoring affair at Heaton Mersey.
Richard Wiles hit 67 as Grappers batted first – an important innings as only one other batsman reached double figures in a modest total of 123 all out.
But the home side were back in the pavilion for 110 with Matt Titchard taking 4-19.
Grappers 3rd lost by nine wickets after being put in by Cheadle at Broad Lane.
Francis Young, 39 and Lucas Read, 35, top scored for Grappenhall as they 182-2. Chedle lost just one wicket as they raced to victory in in 27 overs.
Warrington suffered a heavy defeat at Stockport Georgians after losing the toss and being asked to bat first.
Skipper Ashley Scholes hit a battling 54 but got little support from the rest of the line-up with Jack Knowles, 18 and Bradley McIntosh, 19 the only others to reach double figures.
An all-out total of 124 was never going to be enough and the home side hit off the runs for the loss of only two wickets, both of which fell to Umer Zeb.
The result left Warrington second bottom in the league and staring at the possibility of relegation.
Warrington 2nd won comfortably hosting Urmston.
James Lewis top scored with 61, skipper Thomas Jones hit 46 and Tusher Mohambrey remained not out on 30 as Warrington hit 177-7.
The home side were bowled out for 144 in 40 overs, with Adam Lawton, Jonathan Howell and Raj Soni picking up two wickets each.
In the UKFast Cheshire League, Lymm Oughtrington Park won by 31 runs in a low-scoring match at Weaverham – but remain rooted firmly at the bottom of the division one table.
Losing the toss they were asked to bat first and were all-out for a modest 127. Nick Chadbourne top-scored with 42 and skipper Travis Scholes contributed 20.
Weaverham were bowled out for 96 in the 31st over, Zaheer Khan taking 5-20 and Scholes 3-16.
Appleton lost by 51 runs at Woodford after asking the home side to bat first and then seeing them rack up a intimidating 280-2. Opener Ali Sharif hit a superb 102 and there were useful innings from Liam Mannion, 31 and Josh Coghlan, 33 but Appleton were all out for 229.
Hosting Weaverham, Appleton 2nd chalked up a comfortable victory by 136 runs.
Put in first, they 214-4,, Arun Arungunasekaram hitting a fine 90 and skipper Richard Buck 60 not out. The visitors never put up much of a fight and were dismissed for 78 – Dave Sujith taking 5-27.
Appleton 3rd lost at home to Langley after being bowled out for 111, skipper John Porter top-scoring with 39.
Charlotte Cross took 3-11 as Langley made a hesitant start to their reply, but after that the batsmen were on top and they reached their target for the loss of four wickets.
Appleton 4th were well beaten at Tranmere Victoria, bowling for 92 batting first. The home side lost two wickets chasing down the runs.
Glazebury won by 119 runs after batting first at Frodsham.
Anthony Meulman hit 123 and opener Wayne Hargreaves 68 as Glazebury hit 210 all out.
Paceman Sam Stanier took 5-26 and Kyle Keeble 3-32 as Frodsham crashed out for 91 in 23 overs.
Glazebury 2nd were beaten by seven wickets hosting Urmston after being bowled out for 72, veteran Paul Warhurst top-scoring with 17.
The visitors lost three wickets chasing down the modest target, Steven Bell taking 2-8.
