Infection rates continue to fall but four more COVID-19 related deaths

WHILE infection rates have continued to fall in nearly all areas of Warrington for a third consecutive week, four more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital.

The 329 cases week ending July 29 compared to 450 cases in the week ending July 22, compared to 630 the previous week and 748 the week before that. While there have been four more COVID-19-related hospital deaths since last week,  inpatient numbers have fallen from 64-43  with 54 patients discharged since last Wednesday.

Current inpatients as of Wednesday, August 3, 2022, compared to Wednesday, July 27 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 43 (64) including 0 (1) in ICU.

*The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 664 – 317.1 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 285.7.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 705 – 336.7 per 100,000.

There have been 748 (748) COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 81,674 (81,389) – 76,102 (75,887)  1st infections,  5572 (5,502) second and an infection rate of 157.1 (214.9) per 100,000 which has fallen compared to a rate of 115.2 (173.6) for England which has also fallen.
