Third win in a row sends Grappers rocketing up league table

A THIRD win in succession has resulted in Grappenhall jumping from rock bottom to fourth place in the RSK Cheshire County League division one table.
It was a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Sale at Broad Lane and Grappers excelled with ball and bat.
First they bowled out the visitors for 179 in 44 overs, left arm spinner Adam Roylance continuing his run of excellent form with 6-56 in 13 overs.
Josh Hayes picked up two wickets in an excellent all round bowling performance.
Roylance was again in form when Grappenhall replied, opening the innings with a superb 68.
Grant Hodnett hit 46 and Tom Higher 30 not out as Grappers coasted home with 14 overs to spare.
Grappenhall 2nd beat Brooklands by five wickets and the 3rd XI capped an excellent weekend with a closely fought 13-run win at home to Brooklands.
Batting first, Grappers struggled to 150 all out with three overs to spare. Lloyd Milligan top scored with 36.
Grappers young bowling attack was superb, with four of the bowlers all under 18. James Knowles claimed 4-24, including the final wicket to win the game. Zak Judge also picked up four wickets.
Warrington drew their game with Upton after batting first and hitting 191-7, opener Richard Lyons hitting 52 and Umer Zeb 43.
Zeb was also on form with the ball, taming 3-44 as Upton settled for 170-8. Muhammad Abid took 2-40.
Warrington 2nd went down by eight wickets at Bramhall after being restricted to 101-8 in their 50 overs.
Skipper Thomas Jones batted throughout the innings to finish on 42 not out and Raj Soni hit 24.
The total was never enough and the home side eased for victory with 102-2 in the 26th over.
In the UKFast Cheshire League, Lymm Oughtrington Park lost by five wickets at Stockport Trinity.
Batting first they were dismissed for 125 in under 36 overs. Opener Mathew Carr with 44 was the only batsman to offer much resistance.
The home side reached their target for the loss of four wickets, shared equally by Zaheer Khan and Jack Hughes.
Appleton’s game at Cheshire County Officers ended in an exciting tie.
The home side batted first and were all out for 177. Moshin Rafique ook 3-41 and Amir Aslam 3-41.
Appleton’s reply started well with openers Martin Cooper, 26 and Richard Buck, 32 puitting on 52 for the first wicket.
Wesley Jenkins hit 33 and Ian Mason contributed 23 points but at the closed – despite a desperate run-scramble, the scores were level.
Appleton 2nd won by 17 runs against Port Sunlight at Lyons Lane.
Batting first, Appleton hit 216-8. Port Sunlight were 199-8 when the overs ran out.
Appleton 3rd lost by one run at home to Europa Exciles. Oliver Cross took 3-37 as the visitors hit 184-6 then Neil Thompson hit 72 and Ed Nelson 46 as Appleton hit 183-8.
Appleton 4th lost by eight wickets at Irby, held to 114=9 while the hosts hit 117-2.
Glazebury won by 21 runs at Burton, batting first and hitting 218 all out largely due to a partnership between Jordan Carroll, 84 and Anthony Meulmann, 69. The home side were bowled out for 187, Sam Stanier taking 5-32.
