Three more COVID-19 deaths confirmed although inpatient numbers continue downward trend

THREE more COVID-19-related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital over the weekend although inpatient numbers are continuing a downward trend.

Inpatient numbers at Warrington Hospital have fallen from 59-44 over the weekend, while 38 have been discharged since last Friday.

A total of 367 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Warrington during the past seven days, with overall infection rates continuing a downward trend in Warrington and nationally.

Current inpatients as of Thursday, May 5, 2022 (confirmed positive result – 14 days or less from first positive sample) – 44 (59) including 0 (1) in ICU.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 634 – 302.8 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 263.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 681 – 325.2 per 100,000.

There have been 367 (279) new COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington over the past seven days taking the total to 77,225 (77,097) and an infection rate of 132.8 (154.3) per 100,000 which has fallen again, while the national rate also continues to fall to 112.6 (132.8).
Testing has also fallen by -204,086(-10.2%) over the past seven days.
