COVID-19 infection rates fall slightly again as 77 new cases confirmed

WARRINGTON’S fluctuating COVID-19 infection rates have fallen slightly over a seven-day period, with 77 new cases confirmed, although are above the national rate which continues to fall.

The 77 (69) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 28,669 (28,523).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have fallen slightly to 700 (708) – 334.3 (338.1) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which is slightly above the national average of 322.1 (337) per 100,000, which have also fallen again.
While no more deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital, inpatient numbers have risen from 18 to 21 with 3 in ICU. Four patients have been discharged.

Meanwhile, the UK has recorded another 32,651 new COVID-19 cases and a further 178 deaths in latest 24-hour period
The daily figures, released by the Department of Health, also show 23,833 people received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, and 63,999 were given their second dose.
That takes the total number of people to have received their first jab to 48,528,901 and the total of fully vaccinated individuals to 44,298,076.
Yesterday, 26,911 cases were recorded in the UK along with 158 deaths.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 504 (503) 240.7 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 201.5
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 580 (580).

*Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Saturday, September 18 2021 was 164 (178), taking the total number of deaths to 135,147 (134,983).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 30,144 (32,651), taking the total number to 7,400,739 (7,371,301).
Across the country, there are 8,068 (8,068) patients currently in hospital and 1,020 (1,020) on ventilation.
