Return of popular Record Fair as Warrington Market prepares to open up on Sunday

THE original and best record fair returns to Warrington Market on Sunday (July 11), as the whole venue opens up alongside the popular Maker’s Market.

Self-confessed music obsessive Jon Beddows will strike a note for nostalgia when after an 18-month hiatus due to the pandemic, his popular Record Fair will return to the market.

John loves spreading the message of the record revival believing many are getting disgruntled with the remoteness of streamed music and Spotify lists.
he has recruited some of the best vinyl dealers in the area for the free event.
His passion for vinyl harks back to his days working in the music industry, when in his twenties he worked as a stage manager for the likes of Echo and the Bunnymen, China Crisis, the Style Council and Aswad.
“I love the thrill of face-to-face meetings rather than the online selling which I had to do during the lockdown. I love the banter of being in a market and talking to people about records.”
Now aged 60 John has got a 1,000 plus record collection and hoes out buying other people’s collections.
“I enjoy it when you get the young people and it’s nice to open their eyes to all the different stuff that is out there,” he added.

As well as the Record Fair the Market will have an eclectic mix of traders selling quality new and preloved vinyl records plus food and drink from the cookhouse.
There’ll be vinyl a plenty up on the mezzanine floor from 11am until 4pm, to coincide with the Maker’s Market which will be set-up outside the front doors – so there’s something to suit everyone in the family this Sunday.
The entire market will be open for business for all of your shopping & dining needs!
Warrington Market now be opening the entire building every second Sunday of the month, between 10am and 5pm.
Cookhouse will open between 10am & 5pm while the main market hall & mezzanine floor opening is from 11am to 4pm.
