POLICE in Lymm are again urging parents to check up on their children after a large group of twenty “lads” were discovered playing football at the rear of the local rugby club earlier today, Saturday.
It follows ongoing problems in the village, with large groups regularly gathering on and near Lymm Cross.
During today’s incident police arrived at Lymm Rugby Club and found about 20 teenage lads playing football, who all “legged it” as officers arrived at the scene.
Meanwhile, on Friday night Police saw a lot of groups of youths hanging around the Village, some of which dispersed on arrival.
Others police spoke to appeared unaware of what they were doing wrong.
Local PCSO Renshaw said: “I understand how difficult it is and how hard it is for everyone but we are in a lockdown and people need to be following the rules.
“Parents can I ask you to speak to your children and reiterate not meeting up in large groups and causing issues, this wouldn’t be acceptable at any time never mind during a pandemic!”
If you have a teenage son who has been out playing football with his mates this afternoon then he has probably just legged it across the fields at the rear of the rugby club. About 20 lads in total. Remember we are in lock down. pic.twitter.com/TTxiWU7SjU
