LYMM has seen the highest number of new COVID-19 cases according to the latest data released by Public Health England showing Warrington’s hot spots.
The new data from Public Health England shows the list of local area case numbers for the seven days ending on Boxing Day.
The number in parentheses is the number of cases for the same area in the previously reported week ending December 19th.
The previous week’s data showed Culcheth and West Croft has having the highest number of new cases, where new cases have now dropped by more than 50 pc.
But the overall picture for the town is a continuing upward trend over a seven day period, climbing from 530 to 583 new cases.
Meanwhile the Governments rationale for moving Cheshire and Warrington from tier 3 to tier 4 was an increase in all epidemiological indicators across all three local authorities.
Warrington had the highest case rate in all ages (304 per 100,000), case rate in people aged over 60 (217per 100,000), and test positivity.
In the local NHS (Cheshire and Merseyside STP), COVID admissions to hospital remain broadly flat over the past seven days. General and acute bed occupancy remains high, but static.
The rate of increase of the epidemiology indicators is concerning and warrants escalation to Tier 4.
