AS the Government anounced the national lockdown will continue for at least another three weeks there were no further COVID-19 deaths reported at Warrington Hospital, with total confirmed cases reaching 372.
The death toll in Warrington currently remains at 39, but there are likely to have been more, with at least four deaths at two neighbouring care homes in the town. The number of people with the virus is also likely to be a lot higher than the 372 confirmed cases with many people self isolating at home and others now recovered. There were nine new cases confirmed at the hospital in the last 24 hours.
Across the country there were another 861 COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospital and 4,618 lab-confirmed UK cases.
The total number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospital now totals 13,729 with 103,093 confirmed cases.

Meanwhile Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is deputising for Prime Minister Boris Johnson who is still recuperating from COVID-19, confirmed the lockdown extension following advice from the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies.
He said the scientific advice was that any relaxtion at this stage would undo the progress which had been made and would “risk damage to bth public health and the economy.
The extension takes the lockdown until at least May 7 and hinted it could go further following a previous suggestioon by the Prime Minister that the UK could turn the tide of the virus within 12 weeks.
“We’ve come too far, lost too many loved ones and sacrificed too much to let up now- especially when we are now beginning to see our efforts paying off.
