Death toll climbs to 39 at Warrington Hospital as total confirmed COVID-19 cases rises to 363

THREE more patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19, taking the death toll to 39, with the number of confirmed cases in the town climbing to 363.

Nationally a further 651 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died across the country, taking the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 11,656.
Patients who died were aged between 20 and 101 years-old and 20 patients aged between 20 and 101 years-old had no known underlying health conditions.
The figures do not include people who have died in care homes.
Warrington’s confirmed number of cases testing postive, 363, is 20 up on yesterday.
Meanwhile Health Secretary Matt Hancock says people’s sacrifices by staying at home are beginning to work.
He also said the government was working to introduce procedures giving people wherever possivble the chance to say goodbye to loved ones at care homes.
Deputy chief scientific adviser Professor Angela McLean says she is encouraged by the flattening curve of new coroanvrius cases in the UK
