But No new deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital, although four residents at two neighbouring Penketh care homes sadly died earlier this week.
Deaths or cases at care homes are currently not included in statistics.
During the Government’s daily press conference Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has urged the public to stay indoors over this Easter weekend, telling people: “Let’s not ruin it now.”
He said after almost three weeks of lockdown “we are starting to see the impact of the sacrifices we’ve all made.”
But Mr Raab said it was still “too early” to lift the restrictions.
Mr Raab said not to expect any decision on changing the lockdown restrictions until the end of next week.
He said Social distancing was working, with the numbers of new cases much lower than they would otherwise be. The number of people in intensive care is also not rising exponentially.
But The death toll will continue to rise for about two weeks after intensive care admissions stabilise, as deaths lag behind admissions.
