A Helping Hands group set up in the Orford, Poplars and Hulme areas of Warrington has delivered more than 350 packages to people in need during the Coronavirus Lockdown.

Carol Kilgannon and Stephen Murphy created Helping Hands Orford, Poplars and Hulme as the lockdown was starting and now the local community has come together to help the vulnerable.
Like many other support groups set up across the whole of the borough, food parcels have been donated, packed and delivered by a team of volunteers.
Carol said: “we have had amazing support from the community and local supermarkets (Morrisons, Co-op, Aldi and Farmfoods) and we have managed to send out over 350 packages to people who are in need due to this situation.”
The group is always in need of more donations, especially UHT milk, tinned goods, sanitary items and cleaning products. These can be collected from your home.
The group can be found on Facebook to get in touch or if you know anyone in need: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2594923974167016/
Any other support groups who would like to publicise their efforts or appeal for volunteers please email [email protected]
