Falklands veteran to share incredible life story

FALKLANDS veteran Simon Weston CBE will be sharing his incredible and inspirational life story when he calls at The Pyramid, Warrington later this year.

Now a motivational speaker and author, Simon will be sharing how he not only survived, but was made stronger by, the terrible tragedy which changed his life forever.

He was a soldier serving in the British Army at the time of the Falklands War in 1982 when two Argentine planes bombed RFA Sir Galahad and turned the ship into an inferno.

Simon survived but suffered burns to 46% of his body; yet he would say he was lucky because he lost many of his comrades that fateful day.

Since then he has become one of the most recognised faces of the conflict and in this show, My Life: My Story in My Words, he discusses his experiences with his close friend David FitzGerald from the BBC.

Simon Weston is a truly remarkable man who, despite all he has suffered, has emerged as one of this country’s most inspirational people.

His story has highs and lows, laughter and tears, and on that journey he has subsequently met Royalty, the pilot who dropped the bomb and even Harry Patch, the last survivor of the First World War.

My Life, which comes to Pyramid on Friday September 13, features footage from the conflict and colour print, and will include a Q & A session.

Tickets are on sale now; visit pyramid.culturewarrington.org or call Box Office on 01925 442345.
