POLICE investigating the murder of Ann-Marie Pomphret are asking people who live in the Burtonwood-Winwick area to check their bins, land and garden waste piles for anything that could have been discarded by a passer-by.
Anything they find that they did not put there themselves could be pivotal to the police investigation.
Ann-Marie’s body was found in stables off Old Alder Lane, Burtonwood 9on the evening of Friday, November 2. She had suffered head injuries.
A police spokesperson said: “We’d like to thank the local community for their co-operation so far, but we still need your help.”
Officers have produced a plan showing a highlighted area and are asking people who live in the area to check their bins, etc.
They stress there is no need to check bins that have been emptied since November 2.
The spokesperson added: “If you find something that you don’t believe was put there by you, please do not handle it but call us immediately on 101 and ensure that the bin is not collected for refuse.
“For those who haven’t been spoken to by police already and have CCTV footage on their premises that includes the footpaths and roadway we would like you to contact the police as the footage could provide vital clues to the identity of Ann-Marie’s killer.
“If you spot anything that you think could help us, please get in touch Cheshire Police on 101 or via http://socsi.in/KgWfk quoting IML230241.”
