Acrylic silhouettes will represent the fallen at Remembrance Festival

VIP guests in the form of 10 seated acrylic silhouettes will have pride of place at the Festival of Remembrance, Celebration and Peace being staged by Warrington Male Voice Choir at the Parr Hall, Warrington on Saturday November 3, starting at 7pm.
The 10 silhouettes form a commemorative installation to the fallen of the First World War, as part of a project by the charity Remembered called “There But Not There”.
They were obtained thanks to an award from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, made under the Armistice and Armed Forces Communities programme, which makes awards to bring communities together to remember; and to think about the Armed Forces today.
Four silhouettes will be seated in among the choir, to represent each of the four sections of the choir from which members were lost during World War One. Of the remaining six silhouettes, two will be seated within the combined military bands and four among the audience.
As well as the “VIP guest” silhouettes, the evening will feature Warrington Male Voice Choir, The Combined Bands of The Lancashire Artillery and The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, Service Cadet contingents, a Drumhead Service of Remembrance and Reflection led by The Rev Canon Paul Wilson, choir Patron Terry Waite CBE, The Choir of Great Sankey High School and Barrow Hall College and an audience sing-along.
The evening will remember and honour those who have lost their lives in conflicts, celebrate the end of the First World War and the peace that followed and help raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2018 and Combat Stress.
Tickets are £10 (Under 16s – £5) and can be bought by ringing 01925 442345, visiting www.pyramidparrhall.com or in person from the Pyramid/Parr Hall ticket office.
