SIX men have been charged with explosives and drug offences following an operation by The Serious Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) to target organised crime in Warrington.
Four have been charged with criminal conspiracy to possess explosives. Two of the men were also charged with conspiring to supply cocaine along with two other men. The six have been remanded into police custody.
A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a class A drug (cocaine) has been released under investigation.
Six are due to appear at West Cheshire Magistrates Court today (10 October).
Robert Musson, 33, of Bernard Avenue in Warrington was charged with criminal conspiracy to possess explosives and conspiring to supply cocaine.
William Jones, 28, of Forster Street in Warrington was charged with criminal conspiracy to possess explosives.
Utku Tig, 31, of Lilac Crescent in Runcorn was charged with conspiring to supply cocaine.
Kyle Stewart, 31, of Howson Road in Warrington was charged with criminal conspiracy to possess explosives.
Paul Jones, 38 was charged with conspiring to supply cocaine.
Wesley Williamson, aged 31 was charged with criminal conspiracy to possess explosives and conspiring to supply cocaine.
The charges relate to arrests made yesterday, Tuesday, October 9, as part of a number of early morning warrants in Warrington and Runcorn in-connection with a grenade found on Cleveland Road, Orford,Warrington in February.
Following the execution of the warrants local police community support officers carried out high-visibility patrols to offer reassurance to local residents.
