Apartments plan approved despite road safety concerns

PLANS for a block of five apartments at Burtonwood have been given the green light by Warrington planning bosses.
The scheme involves the former car park of the adjacent Chapel House Inn, a locally listed building, in Chapel Lane.
Nearby there are retirement bungalows and a primary school.
The scheme was opposed by Cllr Terry O’Neill, a ward councillor and leader of the borough council, and by Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council, on highways safety grounds.
But planning officers recommended the scheme be approved.
A nearby bus stop would not be affected by the development, which would be in character with the area.
