Orbit News founder lifts the lid on 50 years of covering local news

FIFTY years after launching media company Orbit News, founder David Skentelbery took to the airwaves on Radio Warrington to talk about his lifetime of covering local news, including launching the first warrington-worldwide website!

David was joined by his son Gary to be interviewed by Radio Warrington’s Station Manager Steve Lewis.

David, who has worked as a journalist for more than 60 years, starting his career at the Knutsford Guardian as a teenager, talked about his experiences during his career, the changes in the media and also his musical preferences, which vary slightly from son Gary, who hosts a Classic Rock show on Radio Warrington every Saturday evening.

As well as freelancing for local, regional and national newspapers, David also broadcast on radio covering local news for various regional radio stations before helping Gary develop the warrington-worldwide brand.
