Flautist Meera’s 5th concert in aid of Foodbank

FLAUTIST Meera Maharaj, 22, is returning to give her fifth concert at St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall, in aid of the Warrington Foodbank.
She will be joined by Dominic Degavino to present a flute and piano recital on February 2 at 7:30 pm. They will be performing some of the great flute/piano works including music by Tchaikovsky, Dutilleux, Liebermann and Barber.
Meera has held a concert in aid of Warrington Foodbank every year since she started music college and has raised over £4,000 and many crates of grocery donations over the years.
Meera and Dominic are both Masters students in London and previously studied together at the Royal Northern College of Music.
A rising young star and passionate performer, Dominic is making his mark in many prestigious competitions and was also a BBC Young Musician Keyboard finalist in 2012 while a pupil at Chethams, Manchester.
Meera went to Lymm High School and her family lives locally in Grappenhall. She has also won major competitions in the UK and Europe.
