A Warrington man has been jailed for four and a half years for an armed robbery on a shop.
Stephen Brown,  aged 30, of Harrison Close, pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to robbery and possession of a bladed article.
Brown entered C&C Stores, on Bridgewater Avenue, Latchford, just after 7am on Wednesday October 18. Inside the store he threatened the shop keeper with a meat cleaver and made off with the contents of the till.
Detective Constable Rob Massey said: “This was a shocking crime targeting a small family-run business. Brown left the shopkeeper fearing for his life. Now Brown is facing years behind bars for his crimes.”
