AN 81-year-old community servant who campaigned hard to save a Woolston Park has been left terrorised by local youngsters hanging out in the area.
Arthur Robinson’s garden fence has been targeted by young vandals believed to be hanging out at Woolston park three times in the last week.
Arthur has worked on the local parish council and Warrington East Board as well as being active member of Warrington Older Peoples forum and other Woolston and Rixton activities for the last 50 years but now feels victimised by Woolston’s youths, and neglected by local police.
The criminal damage is believed to have been caused by local youngsters who have now committed three acts of criminal damage in the space of a week. The fence was repaired once only to be damaged again.
Arthur’s son, Ian said: “He is a vulnerable pensioner with a chronic illness and wants local residents to help him find these kids.
“In the 1980s Warrington New Town wanted to build houses on this land, and my dad fought with Woolston Parish Council to keep Woolston Park for the kids, and this is what thanks he gets. He now feels very insecure and at risk.”
Cheshire Police say an officer has been assigned to the case.
Police were called at 12.48pm on Sunday, 8 October to reports of criminal damage at an address on Poulton Crescent in Woolston between 10pm and 10.15pm on Saturday, 7 October.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting 0717324507. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
