VIDEO: WARRINGTON remembered victims of recent atrocities with a minutes silence at the annual Walking Day.
Rector of Warrington Rev. Paul Wilson led prayers and a minutes silence for all those who lost their lives in recent terrorist atrocities and the London fire.
Meanwhile the town’s Mayor Cllr. Les Morgan took the salute as the usual the parade set off through the Golden Gates, led by the contingent from Warrington Parish Church.
The Mayor and and his Mayoress wife, Gwyn, took the the salute from a raised dais outside the Town Hall’s famous Golden Gates.
Then the procession set off on its traditional tour of the town centre.
Many town centre roads were closed to vehicles.
Despite overcast skies the rain held off for the procession as roads re-opened at 1pm.
