This show will feature exciting new songs from G4’s brand new album, Love Songs, which is released on 3 February. Comedy – Saturday 4 March (8.00pm) – Comedy Store

Roll up, roll up! Sell-out comedy returns to Pyramid with the best in live stand-up from our friends at The Comedy Store. But hurry – it sells out fast!

The Comedy Store continues its residency at Pyramid presenting the best in stand-up from around the globe and showcasing the brightest names of comedy talent. The shows run on the first Saturday of each month, don’t miss out!

Music – Saturday 11 March (7.00pm) – Seth Lakeman

West Country folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman is returning to Parr Hall as part of a new album tour. Ballads of the Broken Few, Seth’s eighth studio album was released in September.

Produced by Ethan Johns, the album is a stunning combination of the singer’s dynamic songwriting and playing, and the sublime harmony vocals of emerging young female trio Wildwood Kin.

Seth demonstrates yet again that, far from being complacent, he is constantly exploring new and bold musical paths, which will be evident as he takes to the stage in Warrington.

Variety – Thursday 16 March (7.30pm) – An Evening with Levison Wood

Best-selling author, photographer and TV presenter Levison Wood will be sharing his experiences and exploits as a modern day explorer with the Warrington audience.

With his keen desire to immerse himself fully in local cultures and customs, Levison Wood has delighted audiences around the globe with stories of his epic adventures, ranging from being chased by crocodiles and hippos in Africa, shot at by gunmen and falling off a mountain, as well as meeting such illustrious characters as the Dalai Lama and George Clooney.

We are back for another 70s Disco night, taking you back to the decade of glitter and flairs with national DJs playing all your favourite disco tunes on original vinyl.

Music – Thursday 23 March (7.30pm) – The Dublin Legends

Much-loved folk group The Dublin Legends, formerly The Dubliners, have toured the world to huge critical acclaim and now they have their sights set on Warrington. In 2012 The Dubliners celebrated 50 glorious years in the music business by receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and a sell-out UK concert tour.

They subsequently suffered the sudden death of founding member “Banjo” Barney McKenna, but Sean Cannon, Eamonn Campbell and Patsy Watchorn decided to carry on with the help of Gerry O’Connor, to become The Dublin Legends.

Music – Tuesday 28 March (7.30pm) Marc Almond – Hits and Pieces Tour

Warrington’s Parr Hall has been selected as one of just five venues to host this eagerly-anticipated tour by Marc Almond.

One of Britain’s most gifted and unique vocal talents, Marc Almond is best known for being one half of Soft Cell and his hugely successful solo career. He will be performing songs from both eras ahead of a new album Hits and Pieces to be released the same month.

Music – Thursday 30 March (7.30pm) – You Win Again – The Story of The Bee Gees

Following its West End debut at the Leicester Square Theatre, You Win Again – The Story of the Bee Gees is embarking on its first ever nationwide tour. This spectacular production tells the incredible story of the Bee Gees in an all-new musical experience.

Follow the band and their lives, through the early charting triumphs, their fall from grace and their meteoric climb back to the top to become the multi-million selling super group known and loved by millions across the globe.

Comedy – Friday 31 March (7.30pm) – Dave Spikey – Juggling on a Motorbike

Dave Spikey celebrates the 30th anniversary of his comedy career with a look-back on his remarkable life; an incredible journey from working-class kid to chief biomedical scientist to much-loved comedy performer and writer via Phoenix Nights, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Bullseye, The Royal Variety Show, Parkinson and much more.

The comedian reflects that maybe none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for the juggler on the motorbike.

NEW AND ONGOING EXHIBITIONS

Crafts – Saturday 4 March (10-11.30am) – Crafty Saturdays at the Museum (formerly Crafty Saturdays at Bank Park)

Join us at Warrington Museum & Art Gallery for free family crafts for kids aged 3-12 and their grown-ups. One Saturday every month we will be delivering craft sessions, making a different crafty creation to take home. The sessions are free and open to children aged 3-12 of all abilities. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Crafts – Saturdays 4, 11, 18 and 25 February (1.00pm-3.00pm) – Crafternoons at the Museum

Warrington Museum & Art Gallery runs free craft activities for kids every Saturday from 1.00pm. There’s something different to try at the museum every week. Last admission is at 2.45pm; all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Exhibition – 14 January – 4 March (All day) – Us and Them and Way Back When

Us and Them and Way Back When was created by young people who use the Relationships Centre in Museum Street. By researching the previous inhabitants of the 1877 building and some of the neighbouring addresses, the group explored the lives of Warrington’s teenagers over the past 130 years, comparing the support systems of the past with that available today.

Exhibition – Until Saturday 11 March (All day) – Keep the Home Fires Burning

Our second exhibition about Warrington in the Great War of 1914-1918 looks at life on the Home Front. As Warrington’s men were away fighting in the trenches of the Western Front or other theatres of war find out what life was like back home.

Munitions girls, nurses, aid workers, conscientious objectors and the women left behind fighting on the kitchen front; all had their part to play in the story of these tumultuous years.

Art – Until Saturday 25 March (All day) – Literally Murals

What happens when you cross a housebound resident with a street artist? Find out in this exhibition where Warrington’s housebound residents are given the opportunity to tell their stories in a unique and exciting way.

By working with a street artist specialising in typography, Warrington’s housebound residents will be able to communicate their thoughts, ideas and emotions to the museum’s visitors using the striking medium of graffiti.

The exhibition will also include a section dedicated to the artist explaining the process and techniques used as well as the historical origins of typographical street art.

Exhibition – Wednesday 20 July 2016 – Friday 31 March (All Day) – Battle of the Somme

The Battle of the Somme display case commemorates the centenary of the event, with a focus on those soldiers from Warrington who fought in the battle. The display features a collection of exhibits including a ceramic poppy from the installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red at the Tower of London, and commemorative brochures.

Art – Until Saturday 22 April (All Day) – Boundlessness

Lars Fredriksson is an abstract painter from Malmö, Sweden, whose work has been exhibited in South Sweden and Berlin. Fredriksson has spent the last six months living in Warrington and this exhibition is a fascinating visual document of his time here.
