Firefighters help rescue trapped person after collision

UPDATED: FIREFIGHTERS helped rescue a person trapped in a car following a collision on Knutsford Road, Warrington during the early hours of today.

Three fire engines attended at the scene at 00.40 with one person trapped in a vehicle. The crew made space so that the casualty could be rescued and handed to paramedics.

Police have now issued a photograph of a blue peugeot vehicle involved in the two vehicle collision.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it sped off, colliding almost immediately with the other vehicle before smashing into a lamp post.

The occupants of the Peugeot, two men, one aged 24 of Bewsey and Whitecross, Warrington and a 28 year old from Orford, Warrington, received injuries and were taken to Aintree hospital.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 35 of 10 August. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

They were minor injuries.
