Villagers brave the elements at Lymm Food Fest

VILLAGERS and traders braved the rain as Lymm was transformed into a huge street café to help kick start the annual Lymm Festival.

More than 50 events and activities are planned over an 11 day period.

Last night local restaurants, bars and shops provided an amazing array of culinary delights from all over the world.

Lining the pavements of the picturesque village street was a hog roast, BBQ, Mediterranean, Portuguese, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Turkish, Italian and much more filling the air with the most wonderful aromas. There was even free chocolate.

There were also street entertainers providing fun, which even another downpour did little to dampen.

The children ignored the rain and joined in the madcap fun with the hugely popular Dinodisco.

Volunteers, Parish councillors and the local constabulary braved the weather to help make the event go smoothly.
