WARRINGTON Wolves are in no rush to bring back inspirational half-back Chris Sandow who is still recuperating from a hamstring injury.

Already missing for five weeks following the injury he picked up at Wigan, first team coach Richard Agar says Sandow will not be rushed back.

“It is hard to put an exact figure on when he will be back. But he is running again and his leg is getting more powerful and the scans are indicating things are pointing in the right direction.

“We know he is keen to shave something off his recovery time but we won’t risk bringing him back too soon. The original estimate was 10-12 weeks We are optimistic but will be cautious.

“He is an important player to us and there is a lot of rugby still be played. You have to be very careful with hamstring injuries so we won’t be rushing him back.”

Meanwhile the Wolves hope to be welcoming Ben Evans and Toby King back from injury, along with Ben Westwood, Ryan Atkins and Matty Russell, with Brad Dwyer only a week or so away from being fit.

Prop Ryan Bailey is also expected to be fit in the next couple of weeks as the Wolves look to shorten their injury list.

A video interview with Agar will be uploaded later.
