Town Council elects new chairman – and new deputy mayor

CLLR Judith Critchley has been elected the new chairman of Frodsham Town Council – only a month after being co-opted on to the council.
She takes over from Cllr Mike Pusey who has resigned from the council because of business pressures.  He was also Deputy Mayor and would have become Mayor in May.
He has been replaced by Cllr Mallie Poulton who will now become Mayor in May. He has announced that his consort will be Jean Johnson, president of Frodsham Stroke Association
Cllr Critchley is a retired civil servant with experience of chairing major committees. Councillors voted her in after hearing of her extensive administrative experience.
Her sister, Donna, has also been co-opted onto the council, as has Laura Watts.
This follows a number of resignations, including that of former chairman Mark Warren.
Cllr Pusey’s resignation means there is still one vacant seat on the council but it is understood there is likely to be an election to fill this.
Frodsham Town Council  has now had three chairmen in little more than three months.
The council has also decided to revert back to having one full council meeting a month – although it will be necessary to hold an extraordinary meeting of the council in March because of urgent business.
