Working in partnership with PH Jones, Warmer Energy and Liberty Gas, the Housing Group aims to provide a number of apprenticeships, local employment, work experience, volunteering opportunities to provide an estimated £2,889,826 of social value over a ten year period.

As part of their contract, set up to provide installation, service and repair works across the Group, the chosen gas contractors have also committed to support the local supply chain, social enterprises and local people into employment within the communities in which they work.

Since the contracts began in April 2015, this joint approach to supporting the local community has already resulted in 3 Your Housing Group customers securing apprenticeships, 1 customer gaining employment, 6 undertaking work experience, 19 companies in the local supply chain being supported and 16 DIY taster events being held with a total of £18,611 of social value being generated so far.

Julie Wedgewood, Employment and Skills Manager at Your Housing Group said “we are delighted with how much social value the contracts have already managed to generate. All three contractors are showing great enthusiasm for the project and are really getting behind supporting the local community.”

The project will continue to be delivered for a total of ten years where they will continue to offer activities and opportunities to local people. Further plans include offering a range of locally based community and trades training events.
