Fun day that will help fight crime

A FUN-day out which also offers tips and freebies to help avoid becoming a victim of crime, is being held at St Werburgh’s Community Hub, Boswell Avenue, on Saturday, September 26.
The “Safe and Secure” family fun day will run from 1pm-4pm and is organised by Warrington Borough Council’s south neighbourhood team and Cheshire Police.
There will also be family fun including face painting, finger print kits to try out, a free prize draw and free refreshments.
Free bike and property marking and free window and shed locks will also be available to those who are eligible and there will be other giveaways on offer from partner agencies, including the fire service.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the council’s executive member for leisure, community and culture, said: “This is the latest in a series of successful events to be held across South Warrington to help residents to take some simple steps to help reduce their risk of becoming a victim of crime. By providing simple information and advice, like promoting resident Home
Watch schemes and offering security tips, we hope to help make south Warrington a safer and stronger community.”
Also there on the day to offer advice and tips will be Trading Standards, Crime Prevention, Home Watch, Cheshire Fire Service, Healthy Ageing Team, Wellbeing Team and many more.
