RESIDENTS of a Warrington care home were “bowled over” when Wolves star Simon Grix dropped in to join them for bowling.
Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation facilitate Boccia – a chair-based version of bowls – and arranged for Simon to make a surprise visit to Padgate House to join residents for a session.
Liam Donnelly, community coach at the foundation, set up the visit and after the session, Simon took a tour around the home and stopped to chat to residents.
Cllr Pat Wright, the borough council’s lead member for statutory health and adult social care, said: “I would like to personally thank the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation for organising this visit and to Simon Grix for being so willing to take time out of his day to
visit elderly residents.
“Care homes are a part of our community and it’s great that they are able to link up with partners across the town to provide a fun activity for the residents.”
