THE annual Orford Park Festival is getting “bigger and better” each year according to local councillors.
Orford Cllr Mike Hannon, (pictured) who officially launched the event, said: “As Chair of the steering group we have had a dozen plus people meeting every month putting this programme of events together and I honestly believe this was probably the best festival to date and it was hugely successful.
“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved on the day.
“Looking to the future I would love to see the Walking day element re-introduced before the event.”
Anyone who would like to get involved in helping organise next year’s event please contact Cllr Hannon at [email protected]
Describing the success of the event at Orford Park Jubilee Hub, Fairfield Cllr Tony Higgins, who ran a stall at the event, said: “This year’s Orford Festival was bigger and better than ever and to see so many small community groups taking part further proves that residents are really getting involved in community minded events.
“This is something I’m actively encouraging in my new role as chair of building stronger communities to see so many young people and families enjoying themselves makes this all worth doing.”
