VANDALS are being blamed for a fire involving bushes in a park at Warrington.
The blaze was in Orford Park, off Alder Lane last night and firefighters from Warrington Fire Station went to the scene and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
Police were informed and anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to call them on 101 or via the confidential Crimestoppers hotline 0800 555 111.
In another incident, fire crews went to a property in Verve Place, Mersey Street, Warrington where a cooker was involved in a fire. The blaze was out by the time crews reached the scene but they used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the building. There were no reports of injuries.
