Pick-up truck on fire in garage

FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a blaze involving a pickup truck in a garage at Warrington.
The blaze was in Hawthorne Avenue, Woolston and two fire engines were sent to the scene.
The truck was removed from the garage and a ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the building.
There were no reports of injuries or damage to other property.
In another incident, fire crews from Warrington were called to the M6 southbound carriageway, between Junctions 16 and 15, to deal with a fire in the engine compartment of a car on the hard shoulder.
