FOUR young ice skaters from Warrington are celebrating after winning silver medals at the Wales and West International championships
in Cardiff.
Competing as members of the Altrincham Synchronised Skating Club it was their first competition of the season with the teams getting off to a great start.
Coach Sam Ozard is very proud of the result as they were competing against strong established teams from all over the country.
Katie Cliff, aged 16 from Lymm and Gina Rimmer 16 from Grappenhall who skate with the club’s Silver Blades and attend Priestley College and Emily Severs, 11 and Jacob Molyneux 10 both from Gorse Covert, who skate with the club’s Whizz Kids and attend Gorse covert Primary School, were delighted with their medal successes.
They all skate at Atrincham Silver Blades rink with training sessions every week at 6am and regular weekend sessions off ice and occasionally they train in Widnes.
Their next competition is The British Championships in January at Sheffield so the teams are very focused to
