ROTARIANS in Warrington helped raise funds for important life saving equipment for victims of the devastating Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
A Philippino family who visited the stand in Warrington town centre were so touched that the Rotarians were fundraising for their country they shook all their hands and made a donation.
The Rotarians raised sufficient funds to add to other club funds and donations that will purchase two Shelterboxes, a Disaster Aid UK & Ireland Family Survival Box and some Water Survival Boxes.
Rotarian Malcolm Ross said: “Rotary Club of Warrington & District 1280 World Community Service would like to thank both the people of Warrington and Warrington Market and Council for their generosity which will help the people of the Philippines who they will probably never meet.”
