Sharing thoughts on Bank Park

A PUBLIC event is to be held to offer people a chance to share their thoughts, ideas and aspirations for the future of Warrington’s town centre Bank Park.
The event at The Gateway, Sankey Street, will take place on Thursday, November 31 between 4-6pm.
It follows a public consultation exercise – which ends on Friday, November 1 – on ambitious proposals to improve the park.
Initial ideas are to build a new pavilion to replace the old dilapidated one, create new all-weather bowling greens and refurbish the toilet blocks.
It would be part of a programme of work to improve and regenerate the town’s parks entitled “Your Parks, Our Parks.”
Bank Park is the oldest park in Warrington and the borough council want to work with local residents and businesses to re-invent its future as a vibrant “front garden” for the town.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “We have had a tremendous response on-line so far. It is indicative of how much the people of Warrington care for Bank Park. As a result of the level of interest we would like to host an open
event at The Gateway for people to come and chat with officers.
“We have presented some ideas for the park. But at this stage that is all that they are. We want the citizens of Warrington to shape the park’s future.
“All are welcome to the event – those who have yet to comment and those who have already commented.”
The suggested plans are available to view online and comment on at
