A TAKEAWAY shop owner has been fined £1,400 and ordered to pay £500 costs plus a £20 victim surcharge, for hygiene offences in a case brought by Warrington Borough Council.
Zi Bin Li, owner of the Lee Garden takeaway, on Knutsford Road, Latchford pleaded guilty at the town’s magistrates’ court to seven offences and was fined £200 for each offence.
The costs and surcharge brought the total to £1,920.
After the hearing, the council’s lead member for public protection, Cllr David Keane, said; “Most of Warrington’s takeaways scrupulously adhere to the regulations regarding cleanliness, and it’s always disappointing when we’re forced to take action like this.
“It’s important that the public have complete confidence in the standards maintained by takeaways and restaurants and the council will always take action against those that fall below the necessary standards.”
