MP backing Birchwood

WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones has pledged to keep “backing Birchwood” following a number of recent mobile surgeries in the area, which have seen her address a wide range of local problems.
Helen has visited residents in Gorse Covert, Locking Stumps and Oakwood over the summer months and helped local people with a variety of concerns.
She said: “As many people know, I run an intense programme of ‘mobile surgeries’ across Warrington North, visiting residents throughout my constituency.
“Over the summer, I have been delighted to meet dozens of residents in Birchwood and address their top concerns.”
Conerns she has tackled include:

* Pot holes and defects along Glover Road – where extra “patching” work has been carried out by the council following Helen’s representations;
* Dog fouling in the Cadshaw Close area – cleared, with extra patrols now monitoring the area for repeat offenders;
* Faulty street lights on Ashmore Close repaired;
* Examples of fly tipping and rubbish in alleyways in Oakwood – which have now been thoroughly cleaned;
* Overgrown trees in Chaffinch Close – cut back after a forceful campaign with local residents;

Helen says she is also continuing to press the council and local police to address a number of other local matters, including the need for better maintenance of the footpath adjacent to the golf course, speeding traffic on Ordnance Avenue and drastically overgrown shrubbery on Woolmer Close in Gorse Covert.
She added: “I have been pleased to campaign with local people in Birchwood to deliver effective solutions to some of the problems that have affected parts of the community here.
“Many of these problems have gone unaddressed until now, and people tell me that the work which has now been carried out has made a real difference.
“Over the coming weeks, I will continue with my pledge to keep backing Birchwood.”

    Nice to see Poulton North Borough Councillors Graham Friend and Billy Lines-Rowland in Birchwood perhaps Graham could show Billy where Poulton North is. (Apparently Billy lives in Birchwood – hard to know though, unlike other councillors his address is a state secret). Luckily Geoff settle is prepared to do all the work on the ward.

  2. I miss you Nick, last time you made a comment on me only being 30 years old and now you’re interested where I live (which is not given out for a very serious reason) I know where poulton North is, it’s the place where I knocked the last Lib Dems off there high horses-even though they have been around for many many many years. Nick, I have always welcomed a face to face conversation with you as you claim to live in Poulton North but instead you choose to be an internet troll and make personal and ageist remarks whilst sat down doing nothing. Get in touch and I’ll happily show you all the individual pieces of case work I have completed since last year. As a political party we canvass all over, not just a few streets around our estate like the Lib Dems do in Poulton North. It’s great to hear from you Nick, all the best old chap.

    I have never referred to your age. What is the “serious reason” why your address is such a secret. Surely not you being employed as a parliamentary assistant by Helen Jones (as declared in the register of members interests)- others seem to manage to give their address while being professional politicians.

  4. Sherlock, sorry Nick. Again my offer is there to have a coffee anytime you like, hopefully you might gain an appreciation for the work I’ve done so far and what I’m working on, as a councillor. Or we can continue argueing online like children, you were childish by having a sly dig and I was even worse by allowing you a reply publically. Drop me an email anytime, or keep the bitter comments coming. Billy

    You didn’t allow me a response- the person who runs the website did that. No response to my question, I notice. C’est la Vie. Just for your information, I may be sat down following an accident but my limited mobility does not mean I do nothing.

  6. Mot sure what you’re talking about Nick, but my offer is there for a coffee and then hopefully you might stop cyber-stalking me and having snide digs at every chance you get. Seroously, drop me an email and I’ll go through all the work I’ve done so far-not many councillors offer that but if it makes you say less negative things then I’ll be very happy to chat with you. Billy

    Clearly you weren’t to know about the wheelchair when you made your “sat down doing nothing” remark – as I said I still do things. I hardly regard making one comment about a photo-op cyber-stalking. Okay, one comment and having the nerve to ask one question of an elected representative about him withholding his address (which amongst other things is required under rules relating to disclosure of members’ interests.) A question which you have totally failed to answer. Your unwillingness to be forthcoming would make any meeting pointless.
