Views wanted on Woolston Park plan

WARRINGTON Borough Council is to invest £140,000 in improving Woolston Park – and is asking for residents’ views on how the money should be spent.
The council has allocated £70,000 in the current financial year and a further £70,000 in the next to help improve selected areas of the park.
Executive board member for leisure, culture and community, Cllr Kate Hannon, said: “Woolston Park already has a lot to offer to visitors but we want to make it even better. The park has a strong and dedicated community of users and volunteers, including the Friends of Woolston Park. No one knows the park better than the people who use it, so we think it is vital to give everyone a chance to have their say.
“Some ideas already put forward include footpath maintenance, park furniture, play equipment, football pitches or improvements to the main pond. But what do you think? Your views are welcome whether you are a regular user of the park, or if you only visit occasionally.”
The council’s neighbourhood and community services team launched the consultation during the Woolston Show last Sunday, and has already heard the views of dozens of residents. But anyone who wants to comment can complete an online survey here. Alternatively, contact Diane White at [email protected], on 07827 232 561 or by letter to:
