Limo boss issues warning to parents

A Limo company boss has issued a warning to parents after noticing a huge increase in the number of school leavers being let down on their big night by unscrupulous agents who book non-existent vehicles.
Sir Thomas Boteler High school pupils Kieran Jones and Chloe Kendrick, both aged 16, are just one example of many who waited for their limo as they watched their class mates whisked away.
The two young leavers, who are high school sweet hearts, stood hand in hand waiting to go to the ball together but the company they had originally booked eventually got in touch saying they would not be unable to collect them.
Fortunately Mike was able to come to the rescue by diverting a vehicle on its way back from an earlier Prom run.
Mike, owner of Limo’s North West said he had seen a huge increase in the number heartbroken parents contacting his company after the limousine they had previously booked being cancelled at short notice.
“There are two methods parents can use to book a prom limo. The best option is to contact a reputable specialist limousine company who own and operate a fleet of vehicles. The other is to use a broker service who simply take a booking with additional fees and then pass it on to the actual limo operators.
“Sadly in recent months the broker booking services have been taking on work then are unable to find a company to fulfil the booking. The result is that dozens of young people are left without a limo, often just hours before the prom is due to begin.
Mike added: “I have decided to issue this warning because literally dozens of heartbroken parents have contacted my company in recent weeks having been let down by one of these broker companies and as a parent I find this disgraceful. One particular mother contacted us this week who was inconsolable, a broker company told her the day before the prom that there was no limo available. We have managed to pull out all of the stops to ensure her children had a limo.”
“I founded my business on the fact that I love these novelty vehicles and I want to provide a good service to clients. These brokers / agents do not appear to have those same values.”
Parents are advised by Mike to book directly with a reputable company who actually own the limousines and to report any unfulfilled bookings by booking agents to trading standards.
