Third Sector's annual assembly

1

WARRINGTON’S Third Sector Assembly – which brings together voluntary and statutory agencies in the town – takes place on Tuesday, March 5 at the Peace Centre.
The assembly will start at 9.30am and continue until 2pm and aims to help promote a thriving, effective and influential third sector working to improve the quality of life for the people of Warrington.
This year, in response to feedback from previous events, the assembly will appeal to a wide range of delegates, from strategic decision makers to volunteers and will include presentations and workshops that will meet the needs of a wider audience.
For delegates who hold a more strategic role, there will be an opportunity to find out more about the borough council’s plans around public health and the newly introduced Social Value Act which could have an impact on a number of third sector organisations.
There will also be a “questions and answers” session for which delegates are encouraged to submit questions prior to the event.
For delegates from smaller community and voluntary groups, there will be a workshop to discuss practical issues such as training, funding, sharing good practice and governance, etc and these concerns will be fed back to ensure that they are listened to and addressed.
Anyone who wants to submit a question should send to [email protected]
The Third Sector AGM will take place on March 12, starting at 5pm at the Gateway, Sankey Street, Warrington.
This will also include elections to the Third Sector Network Hub.
Anyone wishing to book a place should contact Rebecca Harris at [email protected]
