Council support for dignity

WARRINGTON Borough Council is supporting Dignity Action Day again this year.
This national awareness day looks at ways of ensuring people in care are treated as individuals with choice and control over their lives.
Local health and social care workers will be looking to promote dignity in their place of work and provide a memorable day for people receiving care.
Cllr Pat Wright (pictured), the council’s executive member for health and wellbeing will be helping out at Woodleigh Care Home and members from the Warrington Older Peoples Engagement Group will be at Padgate House at lunchtime on Friday February 1.
Many other care homes in the borough are organising their own events and activities.
High Peak Nursing Home is holding a coffee morning and Brampton Lodge has invited a local school to join them for the day.
Cllr Wright said: “This important day serves as a reminder that we all have a role to play in ensuring the dignity of vulnerable adults in our community. This responsibility falls to all of us, not just those who work in health and care settings, to work together to make a difference.”
