MARTIAL Arts students from several clubs took part in a karate competition held at Lymm High School.
Members of Gen ‘Dai Martial Arts Club, from Partington, Lymm, Knutsford and Urmston, battled it out in various disciplines. The Lymm students achieved success in several categories.
The boys’ kumite was won by Jack Fearnhead and Emily Daly took the girls title. Andrea Murphy won the ladies kumite. Matthew Shard won the boys kata and Katie Wright won the girls kata competition.
Joseph Shard won the nunchuka competition first place trophy.
Sensei Dave Shipton said: “All judges, instructors and parents that participated in the event made it a great day and the atmosphere was positive and lively. The essence of what the Gen ‘Dai clubs’ philosophy is, was captured on the day as the emphasis was on good etiquette.”
Gendai Martial Arts has just been awarded Club Mark Accreditation, for its high standard of work and health and safety.
