Heavy lorry on fire

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington were called to a residential road when fire broke out involving a heavy goods vehicle.
The blaze was in Chapel Lane, Penketh and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled it using hose reel jets.
Police controlled traffic and the Highways Agency was asked to assist in the removal of the vehicle.
In a separate incident, fire crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath dealt with a barn fire at Mag Lane, High Legh.
They found a quantity of hay ablaze inside the barn and moved about a tonne into the open where it was extinguished using a hose reel jet.
The fire was prevented from spreading and there was no damage to the building itself, or to equipment stored inside.
