Post office raid: police renew appeal

POLICE are still appealing for information following an armed robbery at a Warrington post office a month ago.
Detectives are keen to speak to two members of the public who might have seen the offenders after they fled the scene at the post office in Glazebrook Lane, Glazebrook on Monday, October 3.
Two men, armed with a machete, attacked the postmaster with the machete after making threats to an elderly customers.
The offenders grabbed cash from an open till and escaped a silver Volkswagen Polo driven by a third man who had been waiting outside.
The car was later found abandoned outside Irlam Medical Centre on Liverpool Road. The three men were seen running from the scene. Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the robbery and who might be might be able to assist with their enquiries to get in touch.
Officers are keen to speak to a man who was standing at a bus stop adjacent to where the car was abandoned in Irlam and a taxi driver who is believed to have chased the men along Woods Road.
Three men have now been arrested in connection with the incident and all three have been bailed pending further enquiries.
