Town ride luck in F.A Cup

WARRINGTON Town rode their luck in a battling 2-0 victory at Prescot Cables in the FA Cup as goal keeper Paul Pritchard limped off after just 15 minutes to be replaced betwen the posts by substitute striker Jamie Henders.
In a scrappy first half goal opportunities were few and far between with the home side failing to create any real opportunities against Town’s stand in keeper.
Prescot created the best of the chances in the second half as Henders pulled off one fine finger tip save, while River Humphries was outstanding at the back for Town.
After missing a further two clear cut chances it was Warrington who took the initiative with Anthony Hickey glancing home a fine header to give the visitors an unlikely lead 15 minutes from time.
As the home side pushed to get back into the game Chris Gahgan made sure of the victory, side footing into the right hand corner after good work wide out by substitute Chris Thompson.
Warrington now face the winners of Curzon Ashton and Bamber Bridge who drew 1-1.
Before then Town are at home to Cammell Laird in the League cup on Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm followed by Harrogate Railway at home in the league next Saturday, kick off 3pm.
