ARSONISTS struck at a Warrington fishing beauty spot setting fire to a wheelie bin on a wooden fishing platform.
Now members of Penketh and Old Hall Angling Society are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the act of “mindless vandalism.”
The arson attack damaged a platform at the Society’s Whitegate Pool located in Livingstone Close, Old Hall, Warrington
Spokesperson Paul Bryan said: “It goes without saying that the pool area is also surrounded by trees and houses, if the fire had spread the matter could have been even more serious.”
The incident has been reported to Great Sankey police.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Mr Bryan on 07803 662159, or alternatively speak to the Police at Great Sankey.
