Warrington Schoolboys U13s 2 Accrington Stanley U14s 3

WARRINGTON Schoolboys newly formed Under 13s played host for the first time at Warrington Town’s Cantilever Park, taking on Accrington Stanley in an entertaining and open game of football.
Warrington started the brighter and took the lead after 15 minutes through Alex Stott who slotted the ball into the corner from an unselfish pass from Jack Fox.
The score remained the same until 10 minutes into the second half when the visitors equalised from a corner.
The more experienced Accrington side began to force Warrington deep into their own half and scored twice within three minutes following a couple of errors at the back.
The score-line flattered the visitors and Warrington finished the game the better, sustaining some pressure on the Accrington goal for the last five minutes.
Aaron Monks earned himself a late goal when he latched onto a superb 35-yard pass from Edward Shaw, cut inside and looped a shot over the goalie from seven yards out.
Afterwards, Warrington coach Ian Flannery said: “Considering it was their first game, it was a positive performance from the squad and a good measure of where the players are in their early development.”
Man of the match was Aaron Monks.
