WARRINGTON Town’s new striker Gavin Salmon will not be able to make his league debut against Colwyn Bay at Cantilever Park tomorrow, Saturday (Jan 23) as he is still serving a suspension he picked up at his former club Woodley Sports.
But it is hoped he can make his debut in the local derby against Leigh at Cantilever Park next Tuesday evening, kick off 7.45pm.
Both games are “massive” for Town, who need maximum points to keep their play-off hopes alive.
Manager Dunn is hoping the competition for places will help the team push on and achieve their goal of making the play-offs and push on for promotion.
Commenting on the signing of Salmon manager Dunn said: ” I think he has all the assets we need to push the club on. He has pace, strength, power and most of all he has a proven goalscoring record at most non league levels including conference national.
“Gavin is pleased to be joining the club, he has been impressed by the quality of players we now have at the club and is looking forward to the new challenge that he feels he needs.”
Dunn has a full strength squad to select from with all players recovering from bumps and bruises following the lengthy lay-off, with their last competitive fixture being against Woodley Sports on December 12, when Salmon was ironically stretchered off with a knee injury!
